Why Houseplants are Important for Businesses

When making sales calls for Marble Botanics we see plants in businesses a lot already, and typically those places have happier employees in the corporate scene and happier customers in the retail/hospitality/restaurant scenes. This translates to a massive return on investment for nearly every business that invests in plants.

It is our goal to describe why plants are important for people and help businesses put company dollars to fruitful work in a very tangible way. Let’s break down why.

Plants have a positive impact, not only because they are beautiful, but because of a deeply ingrained psychological reason called biophilia.

Biophilia is defined on dictionary.com as a love of life and the living world; the affinity of human beings for other life forms.

This impact is golden for two reasons:

  1. Workers are less stressed and more focused with plants in their environment. This results in better, more focused work and employee turnover (a very expensive problem) dropping in offices when plants are introduced.

  2. Plants attract customers. Whether you realize it or not, you are more likely to shop/stay/eat again somewhere that has beautiful and healthy living plants.

If you are a decision maker for your company, you should definitely incorporate plants into your business. The cost is staggeringly low compared to the benefit!
